Rio Juice Bar: Edinburgh

Rio Juice Bar in The Ocean Terminal Mall, Edinburgh.

 

The Mall had an approved concept design, so the Joinery Contractor turned to 360deg to develop this into a workable solution. Challenges included the Mall’s fire standards; all materials were to European class B (was BS:Class 0), using Bamboo and Krion solid surfacing with stainless steel backbars. Further challenges were presented by the need to enclose 2 x ATM machines securely. All services came down the pillars, requiring water & drainage pumps, filters & heaters.

 

These images and drawings are just a few taken from a 28 sheet drawing pack. Design work was carried out in AutoCAD over 2 weeks (including general arrangement & piece part drawings, M&E schedule, CNC profiles and 2 rounds of revisions), with 3D renders achieved very quickly in just 2 days using Sketchup software for speed.
